Love Letter to the Egocentric
To be egocentric is to live in ego, making choices that benefit only yourself at the expense and detriment of others.
If this is you, you are a witness against your own self that you are choosing the inflated ego over Oneness. It is your choice to make. And you are making it within each moment, living in falsehood, and falling ever deeper into the destruction of your being.
In all this time, with each diabolical decision to choose the false mask over the Truth of who you are, have you genuinely thought about your end?
More than likely, you have not, because the ego is a drug, inducing addictions that never satisfy. The ego is centered in a constant need for taking — more, more, and more, now and later.
“Therefore hell has enlarged itself, and opened its mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoices, shall descend into it.”
Isaiah 5:14
The inflated ego does not allow for its owner (or servant when one looks more deeply) to realize that the words and actions of the present moment are likened to seeds sown into the earth. These seeds germinate in due time, generating a fractured self and creating a mirrored effect; the more you use, hurt and manipulate others, the more you will be used, hurt and manipulated.
Mirror, mirror.
“Behold, the wicked man conceives evil and is pregnant with mischief and gives birth to lies. He makes a pit, digging it out, and falls into the hole that he has made. His mischief returns upon his own head, and on his own skull his violence descends.”
Psalm 7:14-16
If no one has explained this to you, I make an attempt here. Everything you do, will come back to you. The laws spoken into the very code of all existence are likened to the creation of a boomerang, reflecting from one plane of existence to another. The sub-microcosm to the microcosm, and still extending to the macrocosm, only to return upon itself.
Although you act in falsehood, attempting to counterfeit both love and Truth, your counterfeit will not last. You have made yourself an enemy to the law of life, an enemy to your very own existence. And just as your lies will fade, so will the you within be dimmed. As this world decays, so do all the lying inventions that have been cropped up by the egotistical mind.
I repeat, every lie of the egoic mind enters into the black hole, the pit of death where the amoral, hateful and all liars inhabit; those who love and practice lies all enter in together.
My hope is that in reading and receiving these words, they find a place to take root within you and allow you to seek healing, that they encourage you to rise above the shackles of the carnal mind.
“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against Elohim: for it is not subject to the law of Elohim, neither indeed can be.”
Romans 8:6-7
Peace awaits you on the other side of the ego. If you choose it, you can have peace.
A personal anecdote: I once had a male acquaintance mention to me that he “love[d] drama.” At the time, I truly believed he was playing around. His actions proved otherwise. During the phase of getting to know each other, he demonstrated the honesty of his words. He had not been joking in the least. Volatility and chaos were his standard of measure for gauging the level of a woman’s interest. He purposefully created drama and employed triangulation, which caused me to walk away.
Sadly, he was not an anomaly in displaying this behavior.
The actions of those like him serve as lessons the Most High teaches about the egoic mind, and I am grateful for such lessons because they enabled me to learn in depth the dysfunctional nature of the fleshly mind. They showed me that ego-centered living causes mental instability and leads to the harming of others and broken relationships. If left unchecked, living in ego can become deadly. There have been many news stories of people who ended their life or the lives of others over a belief in their own self-importance and entitlement. I will not go into specifics here, but the names of Elliot Rodger, Scott Peterson and Christopher Watts come to mind. There are unfortunately too many examples to count, and we would be here for days naming them the whole world over. Suffice it to say that the world’s problems can be hung on individuals choosing the inflated ego over Truth and Oneness.
I appeal to you to choose Truth.
Do not allow your mind to be an enemy to your own existence. You must rule over your ego. In each moment, your every decision counts, even the decisions that may not seem so important. A choice to give rather than to receive, a choice to heal rather than to live on in brokenness, a choice for humility rather than feeding into a sense of superiority, and finally a choice to tell the truth come what may. These choices may induce a sense of fear and a threat of the loss of control, but that fear comes from the ego’s foreboding of impending annihilation. You must overcome it.
Rise above the ego.
“For Elohim has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
2 Timothy 1:7
The more you make these small decisions to rise above your ego, the stronger the pure essence of the you within will become.
This is how you rise.
This is how you heal.
This is how you love.
This is the true you; the you that will find peace within, no matter what the outside world says or does. You will have escaped living in mental anguish, pain and suffering, byproducts of living in ego. You will have sought Truth, and the Truth will have made you free.
Choose Oneness. Choose the Truth within so that you may live freely.
Because in choosing ego, you are choosing death.
“Though his hatred is concealed by deception, his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly. He who digs a pit will fall into it, and he who rolls a stone will have it roll back on him.”
Proverbs 26:26-27
Having read to the end, you are without excuse.
“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your seed may live,”
Deuteronomy 30:19
