The Seasons Within

The fall is a descent into ego;

the pride of it all a vain show.

It’s where the physical and the visible

are what your mind deems credible.

You are ruled by your emotions

and swayed by the many persuasions

of the five senses within your reality.

In winter, the finite tamps down on eternity.

With this loss of true consciousness,

darkness and death come to harness

the life of the one walking in ignorance.

It’s a cold, calculated, trancelike dance

where transcendent love becomes the lake frozen

over, leaving life buried deep below the broken

depths within. You await the coming spring

in which Truth-Light arrives, bringing

healing in His wings. The burgeoning heat

of the Words of Life ushers the soul’s retreat

to come to an end. You are quickened,

made alive, as the flowers of your spirit are given

room to bloom and to grow. With summer

fast approaching, the soul’s glimmer

of hope crescendoes into full faith. The lake

frozen long ago is now a flowing stream. You take

many moments of silence, listening to the still,

small voice within. With this utterance of the will

of the Higher Mind into a new world guiding,

you are gifted transcendence and an eternal knowing.
