Cycles of dysfunction following generations

Increased self-awareness to bring true revelations

Self-defeating actions carrying to what end?

No benefit in sight, no reason to them defend

Why do you do it? You ask yourself repeatedly

What thoughts discordant, questioning belatedly

Moments in the midst, knowing you’re in the wrong

And watching as if from outside as you go on

When the deed is done and you’ve fulfilled lust

You cower in shame, not even your own self to trust

Beating your chest, while asking Yah’s forgiveness

To deliver you from the bondage, your self-imposed mess

Acknowledging you need help is the first step,

The higher mind fighting against dysfunction’s depth

Wrestling against principalities and powers of the air,

The rulers of the darkness who won’t your soul spare

Their desire is to have you, so master your flesh,

Pray for deliverance; you’ll receive it at Yah’s behest

Getting to the root of your cyclical deeds

Are they from you or from ancestral bloodlines received?

Any questions you have, ask the Spirit of Truth sincerely

And with focus and intention responses will come gradually

In the meantime, forgive yourself, moving on from sin’s stain

This is the way of the righteous, in the pit do not remain

The renewal of your mind is a process as Light flows in

The past version of you dying, showing itself a rebellious twin 

But Truth-Light is victorious no matter what it seems

Hold fast what you have, for as the chosen you’re redeemed
