Love Letter to the Insatiable
“Sheol and Abaddon are never satisfied; And the eyes of man are never satisfied.” Proverbs 27:20
When someone is insatiable, it means they have a desire or appetite for something that is impossible to satisfy.
The phrase, “Lust is never satisfied” comes to mind.
Lust is a very strong sexual desire for someone or something. However, this strong desire can be applied to anything: lust for money, cars, partners, power, etc. It all boils down to a lack of satisfaction with what is already in the individual’s possession.
If you are someone that is considered insatiable, there is hope.
In order to see your way out of dissatisfaction, you must understand that most things in this world have been made to look like they have more value and worth than they actually do.
Think about it.
Would you really want that other car had it not been for the supposed value placed on it by either those around you or society at large?
Ask yourself this question.
What makes you desire to have more money when your bills are already paid, and you have more than enough money left over? And when it comes to romance, what makes you desire that new person over the loved one with whom you’re already involved?
These questions require honest answers and several moments of true introspection. You must be able to decipher your perception of reality versus what society or others deem as reality, versus what reality actually is.
“Be still and know that I am Elohim.” Psalm 46:10a
Find a moment to be in a quiet place with your thoughts. If this is difficult, then it is necessary to start practicing moments of solitude until it is no longer an issue. Examine your actions and see whether they create cognitive dissonance in your daily life. For example, are you doing things you know, in your conscience, are wrong? If so, ask Yahuah, in Jesus’s (Yahusha’s) name and by the power of the Holy Spirit, for help in restraining you from such actions. Once you receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, you will begin to draw closer to Truth. And once the scales of cognitive dissonance and sin are removed from your life, you will be able to perceive the truth and reality of all things. Through the continual guidance of the Holy Spirit, the issue of insatiability will become clearer, and you will realize the worth of the things of this world.
You will be able to decipher the value of your time, attention and affection.
You, too, will utter the following declaration about this world made by the wise King Solomon thousands of years ago:
“Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.” Ecclesiastes 1:2
